A useless foreword~

Hello, all (: ! I’d like to make a short, rather uninteresting introduction to myself. Well first off, this is pretty much a blog dedicated to my all-time favourite MMORPG—and a dumb obsession—RuneScape, following the birth of my new account, a skiller of some sort, named Baby Giant, and just my need to write an embarrassing, uncool journal-like thing :3. My goal was a ‘wall’: 99 defence, 99 hitpoints, and having some fun with level 99 money-making skills. My inspiration was seeing countless low-leveled skillers with extremely expensive equipment. It’s a long road…

Today I created my account. Because of Jagex’s idea of needing an e-mail to signup and login, I had to create my e-mail address, so I did a little thinking and came up with ‘babyfiregiant@live.ca’, because of my love for fire giants and generally, cuteness. I was planning on naming my in-game player exactly this, but I had completely forgotten the character limit. So after making the rough clothing of my character, I shortened it and named him simply ‘Baby Giant’.

My journey started with, of course, the tutorial. I’ve done it countless times, and I must say it’s not as fun as the original tutorial, known as ‘Tutorial Island’, but it still has its amusement. After completing it with ease, by default I’m given my first Mining XP.

Now I’m free to roam the world of RuneScape… well, the F2P world, through the eyes of a n00b. Anyway, the first thing I do is head to Varrock to get a clothes makeover; I’m more of a fan of the ‘classic’ look. On my way there, a rather grueling walk if you’re used to teleporting on a high Magic leveled account (and even the use of Agility for Run energy),

I stop at the chicken farm to get my first Combat level: through Prayer. For a few minutes I collect bones from the chickens to be buried, and luckily there are many players killing them and not picking up the leftovers. There, I was inspired more by a level 19 female with full gold-trimmed rune armour (though unfortunately, only a chainbody); not so incredibly impressive, but rather commendable nonetheless. I then remembered that Elvarg could be killed at a lower level… so I decided to make that one of my goals for Baby Giant. I reached 8 Prayer, getting my Combat to 4; a start.

Finally reaching Varrock, I get my clothes changed. Drawing aspects of the Melée Instructor in Lumbridge, I make my character’s clothing a light, baby blue; sounding fitting to his username. Ironic.

My last errand is reporting. I’ve had an extremely overwhelming sense of justice (although I wouldn’t have such a big impact on the RuneScape community, I still feel the need), which brings me to hitting the ‘Report Abuse’ button simultaneously, and finally it has become a routine to sit in a moderately player-populated area and report any inappropriate happenings daily. Usually I choose Lumbridge’s player spawn point (where usually new players have a little sense of rule judgment), Varrock west bank (where, for some reason, a lot of inappropriate language goes on), and especially the Grand Exhange (where the most spamming and abuse goes on, usually). I have little time, so I stay happy with 3 or 4 reports for today…

And that’s the end of the boring start for Baby Giant! And the start for a long, seemingly unending journey to becoming what is called ‘rich’. I should be updating regularly :).
